It has always been clear that this parish has a strong and meaningful sense of purpose, a spiritual refuge continually providing strength for those in need of nourishment. We provide a full range of services for the Christian year, including some unavailable elsewhere in the city. Since 1974 there has been a concerted effort to pursue musical and liturgical excellence. Rite 1 of the Eucharist is the central service celebrated and all baptized are encouraged to receive communion.
Seasonal services, such as Advent Lessons and Carols, are patterned after Kings College, Cambridge; and there is full schedule of services for Holy Week. An annual Lenten Bible Study series is offered combined with a Lentin luncheon .
We also host the NYS Baroque concerts (www.nysema.com) and, through the course of the year, many organ recitals and multi-parish concerts. Listen to WCNY for dates and times.
We also house The Inter-Religious Council Refugee Resettlement programs donations.
Parishioners are drawn to us from great distances. We believe that the beauty and dignity of our services attracts and fosters a deep sense of Christian community within the parish. Our desire to share this beyond our parochial boundries then becomes one of our most wanted and compelling goals.
